Vintage 14 x 22 in. reproduction Belgian poster (not a vintage original poster) from the classic 1950's comedy/drama romance, BUS STOP, released in 1956 by 20th Century-Fox and directed by Joshua Logan. Based upon the play by William Inge, a naive but stubborn cowboy (Don Murray) falls in love with a saloon singer (Marilyn Monroe) and tries to take her away against her will to get married and live on his ranch in Montana.
The design features great artwork depicting a large image of saloon singer Chérie (Marilyn Monroe) sitting on top of her suitcase at a bus stop as handsome and energetic Beauregard "Bo" Decker (Don Murray) looks as if he is trying to lasso her. The rich color tints really pop on this poster, which we are uncertain as to when it was printed (the 1970's/1980's?). The original Belgian poster would have the words "INPRIME EN BELGIQUE" in the lower right corner as opposed to "PRINTED IN BELGIUM," written in English. It is unrestored in fine condition with a few pinholes in three of the corners, one corner of which has small tears from the poster being pulled taken down while the pins were still holding it, and a center vertical crease.
