BROWN, released in 1997 in the UK by Buena Vista International (UK) Ltd. and directed by John Madden. Queen Victoria (Dame Judi Dench) is deeply depressed after the death of her husband, disappearing from public. Her servant Mr. John Brown (Sir Billy Connolly), who adores her, through caress and admiration brings her back to life, but that relationship creates scandalous situation and is likely to lead to monarchy crisis. The cast includes Geoffrey Palmer, Antony Sher, Gerard Butler, Richard Pasco, and David Westhead.

This vintage original mini lobby card depicts an interior shot of a pensive-looking Queen Victoria (Dame Judi Dench) seated at a dining table with other guests who also look distraught. It is unrestored in very fine+ condition without any pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws.

For her performance in this film, Dame Judi Dench won the coveted Academy Award for "Best Actress in a Leading Role"; the BAFTA Film Award for "Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role"; and a Golden Globe award for "Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama." Though she was in her early sixties, Judi Dench cites this as the movie that really launched her career.  This is one of two movies in consecutive years in which she played a historic English Queen. She played Elizabeth I in Shakespeare in Love (1998). The same actresses played the Queen's Ladies in Waiting in both movies. This is Gerard Butler's theatrical movie debut. During filming, he saved a young boy from drowning in the river Tay and the Royal Humane Society gave him a "Certificate Of Bravery".  Butler became hypothermic after filming the scene in which he and Sir Billy Connolly run naked into the ocean.
