Over Fifty years ago on Dec. 4, 1964,

New Orleans leaders broke ground on The Rivergate,

an ultra-modern exhibition hall that was expected

to lead the city into a new era of tourism economy.

The Rivergate was demolished and in it's place is Harrah's Casino.
