Description
Offered here is this wonderful antique trinket box with hinged lid. I am unsure of the age or origins of the trinket box. It is fully lined inside with a sort of velvety material that is in good condition, however, there is some slight damage to the fabric. It is also beginning to come loose from the sides of the box. The box has a hinged lid. The box is a sort of charcoal gray in color, and was once covered with a thin layer of gold foil, however, the foil is mostly worn off now and is still peeling in the places where it is still attached. I am unsure of the exact age or origins of the box. It has no distinguishing marks on it with the exception of the number 140 stamped into the bottom. The box is otherwise in good condition structurally with no chips or cracks. I am unsure exactly of the material the box is made from, it may be some type of metal. It is 3.5" tall at the top of the lid, is 1.5" deep, with an inside diameter of 2", and an outside diameter of about 3". It is a very nice trinket box, still fully lined and in usable condition. The finish could be repaired to make it look quite lovely once again.
