Description

You are bidding on this nice hard cover first edition of The Emperor’s Lady,  by F. W. Kenyon, a novel based on the life of Empress Josephine.  It is a first edition but I am unsure if it is a first printing.  It has a copyright date of 1952, and was published by Thomas Y. Crowell Company.  The book is in good condition, with some wear at the corners and edges, and some fading on the outer spine, as well as some scuffs and light stains on the cover, and a sticker remnant on the inside front cover.  The binding is good, although loosening, and all 501 pages are intact and in good condition, although they are yellowed with age.  This is a very nice novel, based on the life of Empress Josephine…
This is an historical novel about Josephine - the wife of Napoleon Bonaparte. I quote from the dust jacket, " The story of Josephine is one of light and shadow, through which she moves, a lovely and exciting woman who used her beauty and intelligence to get what she wanted, and, as Empress, discovered too late that she had forfeited the heart of the one man she loved."
