Fleetwood Standard Reply CRS910 Cordless Voting Response System w/(10) CRS-1200 wireless keypads

saleIncludes Fleetwood reply CRS910 base station, 10 keypads, power cord.

The hardware based Fleetwood audience response system is a peripheral device that attaches to a standard computer, desktop, tower, or notebook. It consists of an Interface (also called a base station or controller) and some number of keypads. The interface communicates with each keypad via a wireless radio link, and with your computer via a standard serial cable.

The CRS910 base station uses 3 whip antennas. Mount the long antenna on the center post and the two shorter antennas on the outside posts.

If your computer does not have a built in serial port, you will need to obtain one. Many USB to serial adapters simply do not work. We have found that the Startech ICUSB232 works well with about 95% of the machines we've tested. The other choice is a PCMCIA card. Of these, we have found the Quatech brand to be the most reliable.

The Interface communicates with up to 250 keypads on a specific radio frequency (channel) and sends data to one of the computer's serial communications ports for processing. There are eight different radio channels available within the Fleetwood Standard Reply hardware platform, for a maximum system capacity of 2000 keypads . A channel 1 interface communicates only with channel 1 keypads. The same holds true for all other channels.

The Audience Response Keypads
The response keypads function as individual terminals, sending user entered digits to the Interface via wireless Radio Frequency transmission. Each pad has an electronically stored "address," or ID, which is also written on its bottom cover. This address is a number from 1 to 250. Please see our Frequently Asked Questions page for information on re-addressing keypads and for re-assigning channels on synthesized keypads.

In general, it is critical that keypads are placed within the maximum radio range (about 75') of the interface's receiving antennas. In large rooms seating hundreds of people, this is typically accomplished by using an external antenna system that includes high gain, dipole antennas.

CRS1200 keypad Summary
The Fleetwood Reply Model CRS1200 Response Keypad is a lightweight cordless handheld response keypad that provides data interactivity in a variety of presentation and learning environments.

The Reply system uses radio frequency technology in the keypad to transform the group experience from a one-way information flow to a dynamic two-way information flow that has been proven to provide higher attention and retention rates.

The Model CRS1200 Keypad allows users to participate in the interactive process by responding to multiple choice questions and viewing the results of the group response on a monitor or projection screen. The collected data identifies the understanding of the group and, as appropriate, its teams and individual users. In addition to the visual display, the system tabulates, sorts, and stores responses for post-session analysis and printing.

CRS1200 keypad Specifications
Enclosure
Each wireless keypad is housed in a lightweight, compact, gray A.B.S. plastic molded enclosure.
Dimensions: 6.7" L X 3.1" W X 1.5" H.
Weight: 6.5 ounces.

User Input
Soft-touch sealed membrane switch panel with 12 tactile keys.
Ten keys are numbered 1-10. Additional key markings include A-E on keys 1-5, and "Yes" and "No" on keys 1-2. "Clear" and user-defined "asterisk" keys provide additional functions.
Optional: Membranes can be customized to "personalize" the product. These custom membranes may be substituted for standard membranes. Minimum order and special terms apply.

Display
Seven-segment LED is highly visible, even in reduced lighting conditions.
Provides response entry confirmation and positive acknowledgment that the Base Station received the response input.

Power and Power Management
Powered by a commonly available 9-volt alkaline battery and internally regulated to 5 volts for consistent performance throughout the life of the battery.
Keypad is using power only when transmitting and acknowledging an entered response. Low battery is indicated by the rapidly flashing seven-segment LED display when about 100 responses are remaining.
Battery provides sufficient power for 10,000 response interrogations before requiring replacement.

User Identification
Each keypad has a unique address between 1 and 250 and a radio frequency (RF) channel number. Combining this "address" feature with a unique response verification routine provides security.
Keypads operate independently of each other, and keypad addresses are programmable.

RF Technology
Proprietary two-way radio communication system provides reliable, barrier-free operation between keypads and their associated Base Station.
Response entries are acknowledged when received by the Base Station.
Integrated error checking ensures accurate communication of responses and control functions.
The keypad design uses separate frequencies for controlling the keypad and communicating key presses to the Base Station.
A 216 MHz RF keypad receiver processes address/control signals from the Base Station's transmitter. This receiver is dual conversion crystal referenced frequency modulated.
A 345 MHz RF keypad transmitter sends keypress information to the Base Station's receiver. This transmitter is frequency modulated.
Eight (8) radio channels are available to provide flexibility.
Internal loop antenna is enclosed and protected by the keypad housing.

Range
The system is designed to provide reliable operation in an area 100 feet by 100 feet with standard omnidirectional, quarter-wave whip antennas.
Greater range is achieved by using the optional auditorium antenna kit. This kit includes high-gain dipole antennas that replace the standard antennas.

Speed
The Base Station scans each keypad in sequence. Scan duration is 1/100th of a second. Within each brief time slice, the Base Station is able to simultaneously determine a keypad's identification and process its response information.
This "look, listen, verify" routine is both intelligent and fast. Polling cycles are adjustable to optimize speed to group size. For example, a group of 50 keypads can be sampled every one-half second, whereas an audience of 2,000 per room/site can be sampled every 3 seconds.
When used with Replydistance learning software, responses from multiple sites may be combined and processed with no additional delay.

Control
Utilizes a high performance microprocessor and external permanent memory for storage of setup parameters and keypad addresses.
Firmware is installed in microchips, which can be replaced to facilitate easy upgrade during the life of the product.

Capacity
250 keypads per radio channel.
8 radio channels are available to support a maximum of 2,000 keypads per room/site.
Adding keypads to an existing Base Station requires them to be set to new, unused addresses. No change is required on the Base Station when keypads of the same radio channel are added.

System Configuration
A basic Reply system consists of...
10 CRS 1200 Wireless Keypads
one CRS 910 Base Station for every 250 keypads of the same radio channel in a room,

Optional accessories (purchased separately) include dipole antennas, multisite application software, serial cable extension kits, radio analyzer toolkit, base station carrycases, and keypad carrycases.

The description for "used" given in the item specifics is's definition of "used" and does not necessarily describe this item. requires a condition from the options of 1. new, 2 new, other, 3Used, 4 for parts or not working

If fact it may have unknown flaws and deficiencies. the item has only been tested to the extent described in the testing notes.
