Description
Offered here is a fabulous antique solid wood high back ladder back chair. This is a beautiful dining room or side chair with a high back and ladder type slats. It has amazing carved detail all over the back, as well as the turned spreaders on the bottom of the chair. The chair has a woven cane seat that is in minor need of repair in that it is coming loose from the chair, however, the seat itself is in good condition, but it needs to be reattached at the bottom. Other than that the chair is in very good condition, although I am unsure of it's exact age origins. It does have a small label on the bottom, but it is extremely faded and impossible to read. The chair does have some wear to the dark finish, as well as some light fading and light surface scratches. I am unsure of its exact age the chair, however, I believe that it is made of walnut, but am not completely certain. It is 33.5" tall at the middle of the back 37.5" tall at the top of the side rails, is 18" wide across the front of the seat, 18.5" deep at the seat, 22" deep total, with the seat being 18.5" high. This is a fabulous amazingly carved high ladder back side chair. It would make an amazing addition to any antique furniture collection.
