***Greek Organic Oregano***
Oregano (origanum vulgare) is a member of the mint family. Oregano means “mountain of joy” and it is native to the southern Europe region. Today, it can be found growing in other places around the world as well.
Wild West Organics dried artisan Greek organic oregano leaves (origanum vulgare var. hirtum) is hand harvested at the best time, just before it blooms, then sun-dried in hot weather. My drying method locks in the fragrant aroma, flavor, and goodness of the oregano plant.
Dried Greek oregano has a pungent aroma and warm, rich flavor and are primarily used in dishes rather than fresh oregano leaves which have a milder taste and aroma.
Wild West Organics has not applied chemical pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers in any of our carefully cultivated herb and pepper products. All pepper seeds and herbs are produced using natural organic farming methods.
Culinary Usage: Use it on pizza, tomato salad, spaghetti sauce, egg salad, vegetable salads, marinated olives, lamb, etc..
Remove some whole oregano leaves from the amber herb bottle. Next, crush them between your fingers to release the fragrant oils trapped within the oregano leaves. Finally, add them to pizza, or salad to begin enjoying their pungent and zesty flavor.
*Our herbs are packed in heat-sealed foil bags to protect them from sunlight and heat which directly affects the freshness and flavor of all herbs.
