Designed for studio and stage use, the Tascam SERIES 8p Dyna is a 1 RU
rackmountable mic preamp with selectable analog compression on each channel, as
well as low-noise preamps, dual S/MUX optical ports, and selectable +48V phantom
power on a per-channel basis. Because of this, you can use the unit as an
expansion device for S/MUX equipped interfaces, as a front-end for DANTE setups,
or as a standalone front end.
On the front of the unit, you'll find two combination XLR-1/4" input jacks
for mic, line, or instrument usage. The rear provides six more XLR-1/4"
combination jacks for line or microphone inputs. You'll also find eight 1/4"
line outputs and a DB25 connector for all eight analog outputs. BNC wordclock
I/O and optical ports are found on the rear as well.
The front panel offers individually switched 48V phantom power as well as
comprehensive metering via digital peak and level meters. The unit ships with
its own power supply.

Versatile Inputs
With two instrument/microphone combo inputs on the front panel, you can
quickly plug in mics, guitars, basses, and more. Six balanced mic/line inputs
grace the rear. Every microphone input has individually switchable +48V phantom
power, allowing you to operate condenser mics and ribbon mics safely at the same
time. Thus, the unit gives you a multipurpose front end for recording and live
sound.
Expand Your Existing Interface
Dual S/MUX optical outputs on the rear of the unit enable you to use it as
a front end expander for S/MUX-equipped audio interfaces such as TASCAM SERIES
102i and SERIES 208i and Celesonic US-20x20. ADAT compatibility is also
available. With two S/MUX outputs, you can send all eight SERIES 8p Dyna
channels at up to 96 kHz (four channels at 176.4 or 192 kHz), expanding your
existing system's capabilities in the process.
Send to Anything
The SERIES 8p Dyna's eight line-level analog channel outputs are provided
on both 1/4-inch balanced TRS connectors and as a balanced 25-pin D-sub
connector. Route signals to interfaces, recording mixers, front-of-house
consoles, and pretty much anything else. Connect its D-sub outputs to a TASCAM
ML-16D or ML-32D Analog Dante converter, and the SERIES 8p Dyna becomes a
pristine front end for an audio-over-IP network.
Pro Features
You'll note the rugged metal 1 RU rackmount enclosure, perfectly suited to
live use. Wordclock I/O on BNC connectors with an In/Out/Thru switch enable
proper synchronization of digital signals. Front-panel analog overload
indicators, compression indicators, and digital peak and level meter bars let
you monitor the unit's performance. Still, the SERIES 8p Dyna is simple to
operate, so you can stay focused on the task at hand.
