Wide spread in the Pacific Northwest, but also grows as far North as Central New York, in the Midwest, to the higher elevations of Hawaii. Seed source is low elevation and West Coast sources. Not intended for high elevation planting. A large tree growing up to 200 feet tall and living over a thousand years old. Its timber is known for its tight straight grain and natural resistance to decay. Evergreen foliage is dark green. Makes a great wildlife tree, screen or wind break. Prefers moist, acid, well drained soil. Survives temperatures as low as -30. Prefers sun, but will grow in shade! USDA zones 6 - 8. Photo shows examples of seedlings... you are buying 3 seedlings.
