WHAT IS BPH?
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is an enlargement of the prostate which involves compressing the urethra and results in problems urinating. BPH is one of the most common prostate changes in men over 50.
It is not completely clear what exactly causes BPH. With age men tend to experience hormonal changes which disturb the balance between male and female hormones. The disturbed hormonal balance, coupled with chronic inflammation, can lead to growth of the prostate tissue and an increase in the size of the gland.
The prostate is a gland of the male reproductive system which has the shape and the size of a walnut. It is made up of gland and smooth muscle tissue. It secretes a fluid which carries semen. The prostate is situated at the base of the urinary bladder and surrounds the urethra; this is why its size matters in the process of urinating.
In a male’s lifetime, the prostate goes through two major stages of growth. The first one occurs early in puberty, when the prostate doubles in size and reaches a volume of about 20-30ml. After the age of 40, some men experience another period of prostate growth caused by a process known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
The most common symptoms of BPH include difficulty urinating, urinary frequency, especially at night, difficulty initiating the stream, poor flow, an intermittent stream, post-urination dribble, a sensation of poor bladder emptying, a compelling need to void, sometimes accompanied by urgency incontinence.

WHO SHOULD NOT TAKE REVERTA?
