The academic nature in which designer Antione Heller looked to the past for inspiration also stems from the Beaux Arts movement. Cluny takes its name and inspiration from a real place with historical significance. This is a Multi Motif pattern,named for the gardens surrounding the Hotel de Cluny in Paris, a medieval stone mansion built in the Middle Ages in 1485 in the Gothic style. It was richly decorated and filled with collections devoted to the arts. For nearly two centuries, Gorham has been a leading manufacturer of premium sterling silver, committed to superior quality and craftsmanship and innovative designs.
Lovely sterling silver Crumber measuring 12 1/2" in the pattern Cluny Vermeil by Gorham. This piece is entirely gold washed (vermeil) features a stunning floral motif on the handle leading to the beautifully brite cut serving area with silver accents. This piece is monogrammed (see photo) and is in excellent condition.
