I have not seen these neat vintage lithophane lamps for a while but recently purchased 4 from a local estate. I believe they are German - each one works, taking a few seconds to go on when turned on - usually this mean there is a small fluorescent bulb inside. I have not opened them so I have no idea of the bulbs are original or how long they will last, etc (replacements are not usually hard to find) and have not inspected the lithophane edges. They make a humming noise also indicative of a fluorescent bulb. This one measures 6.5 inches wide, 6.25 inches tall and 3 1/8 inch deep. I see no damage of any kind from the front and the details in this scene with windmill and man on a fishing or oyster boat? are incredible. Might be nice to polish the wood or oil it - that will be left to the buyer. May need some cleaning or dusting. Minor wear on the gold frame. Please see others from the same estate. Will be double boxed and insured for safe shipping.
