A properly remanufactured engine is as good or better than a new one as ( seasoned ) blocks have less chance of warpage or change as you use them than a new one.

You can't get this quality of work at a local mower shop or dealer as it requires an engine rebuild/machine shop with proper equipment and know how. This is not just a bored out engine with the valves ground but a fully remanufactured block and most of the work done is listed below.

We have a general pic showing and may not be exactly like yours but we ask the proper questions upon ordering to insure you get a drop in fit for your application. We have blocks available for most any application except for cranes and lifts that use special spline cranks. In those cases we ask customer to send us block up front!

We worked extra hard last year and shipped about 90 twins to catch up on all our orders but weren't able to take but 5 last year. This year we have started anew and plan on doing about 80 twins but we won't be booking orders out more than 90 - 100 days so may stop taking orders periodicaly. Biggest problem is we now have to make some parts we need because we can't always buy ( Quality ) parts and I don't use junk parts!

Cores and core charge: Our prices are based on getting a good core back. We do require a good rebuildable core back at end of purchase. As we have said for years Onans are famous for valve seats coming loose so we test all carefully so we don't rebuild a junk block. ( See note below )Block must be borable and not cracked or broken at bottom of cylinder, Crank must be turnable and usable, and cam must not be cracked or worn down. In these cases you will get a good part and docked for some core value. Tell us what you have and we can usually tell you what you'll get back. Order: You can pay core charge up front and we will build motor and send up fron, you put old core in our box and we pick up. If core is good you get refund or a portion. On the Onan if 1 seat out you get docked $100.  The other way is buy up front , we send a box, you pay shipping back to us but it still must be rebuildable or you pay core charge or we refund money.

Note: We just rebuilt a motor for a customer he had rebuilt at another(GOOD ) shop he told me for $1600 and it lasted a couple months.When we cheked his block because he insisted it was minor cause it was a really good block. We found other builder had put seat in with JB weld and then beat all around seat about a 1/4 inch with punch and hammer and told him it would last forever. We knew block was junk so we put it in oven to test the other seats and just getting hot 2 more fell out on flour just turning it over and the 4th seat we could turn with just our finger with glove on. SOO the GOOD shop he used rebuilt his junk engine with all 4 seats loose and he got 20 hrs. use. Most builders don't know Onans issues and we fix the seats and the problem also!

Work Performed:                                                                                                                                                                         All blocks are degreased, glass beaded, and hot tank pressure washed to remove any sediment or glass bead.                         Cylinders are bored or sleeved, cranks are reground or welded back to standard, valves guides, and seats are ground, resized, and cut to specs.                                                                                                                                                              All sealing surfaces are flattened.                                                                                                                                      Oil pump is rebuilt, cam govenor assembly rebuilt or replaced, and govenor arm seal replaced.                                              Cam and main bearings are replaced and align bored.                                                                                                          New pistons, rings, rods, gaskets, seals, and thread inserts as needed Balance of gaskets are sent with block to customer                                                                                                                                                                                    Block are coated with heat proof primer                                                                                                                                                                                   

                Ship rates dispayed are somewhat high, we average from$46 to about $76 for most locations in lower 481579

Also note that if you buy a 20 HP we must have a like core returned. You can't take your 16 Hp to a shop and have them rebuild it to a 20 Hp and we can't either.
