Today I am offering another classic from my collection. This one is the legendary Asahi Pentax Super-Takumar M42 mount 55mm f/1.8 prime lens and it can be used with any 35mm SLR camera body that has the M42 screw-mount. There are many bodies out there with this exact mount. They're easy to find and are usually pretty inexpensive. This lens can also be used with the ILC (Interchangeable Lens Compact) cameras otherwise known as "Mirrorless" cameras. With the correct lens adapter this 55 can be be used with almost any of them. If you have been using only that 18-55 kit lens that came with your camera, you're are in for a big surprise! The sharpness and clarity of this lens will blow you away. It is far superior to any of those kit lenses. The only reason I am not calling this one mint is that there is a very small amount of paint loss on a couple of the ridges on the focusing ring. Other than that it is darn close to mint. Of course the glass and mechanical functions are perfect. The glass is clean and clear. The aperture blades are dry and snappy. The aperture ring clicks positively and the focus action is silky-smooth.

On most of these cameras this 55 mm lens converts to a 110 mm telephoto, perfect as a portrait lens. I'm asking $59 for this killer glass. Both caps are included.
