These two young men (yes they are grown, sporting small mustaches) appear to be wrestling with a large football (or soccer ball, as we in the U.S. call them).  The are decorated in brilliant red and blue short trousers, with knee socks.  The bottom of the inkwell is marked Germany.  The pen hole in the top seems to have been a design that held preference 1920-1940.  It is porcelain.  The inkwell measures 2 3/4" high including the finial, 4 1/2" wide, 2 1/4" deep.  It contains the fitted, removable porcelain ink insert. A most unusual find, as most German porcelains from this period were seriously damaged during WWII, or destroyed as a result of political sentiments.  There are no damages.
