Rare Vintage Antique Secondo Vergani Cremona Italian Torrone Nougat

Painted Hinged Tin ~ Italy

Up for your consideration is this extremely rare, ornate, Italian Torrone Nougat tin, by Secondo Vergani, circa 1920’s.

Tin is in vintage condition. Spectacular, ornate designs throughout this intricately detailed tin. View of a large church, floral borders around sides, floral motif beneath church, and various symbols surrounding the center portrait.

Beneath church is an eagle holding very detailed company logo, which reads: MARCA DEPOSITATA and the “Vergani Secondo” within the logo and beneath is “VS” Graphics and colors are vivid, and paint is in extraordinary condition for its age. Not much oxidation, but for a bit on the bottom. Shows wear around the top edges of lid, commensurate with age.  Opens and closes but it seems the 10 is a little warped either at the hinge area or just the 10 itself. When the tin is fully closed, it does not sit entirely flat.

Measures 8 ¾” wide x 1 ½” h x 6 ½” d.
