Wilendur was a famous kitchen textile name for many years, with homemakers wanting to have their boldly colored tablecloths, tea towels, and other products! The Weil & Durrse Company manufactured linens under different labels, from 1938 until the 1990s. Wilendur was their first label in 1938. In 1958 they added an 'e' to make it Wilendure. The Wilendur tablecloth was known for its' repeating pattern on a heavy cotton sailcloth material. The Penn Dutch is a lovely Amish design, that will warm any kitchen! This Penn Dutch tablecloth has overall faded colors, so now it has a very soft look. It is free from any holes, worn areas, or repairs, so it still has alot of use left in it yet! I used fabri-tac at the corners of the hems to prevent fraying. It measures 55" long x 49" wide. This Wilendur Penn Dutch Tablecloth is in great vintage condition, and would be wonderful for everyday use. You wouldn't have to worry about the kids eating spagetti! (I am a member of The Vintage Tablecloth Lovers Club. I will send you my notes on The Care & Storage of Vintage Linens.)
This vintage tablecloth was featured in Collector's Guide to Vintage Tablecloths by Pamela Glasell, on page 118, in another colorway. It was also featured in More TERRIFIC TABLECLOTHS by Loretta Smith Fehling, on page 82, in this colorway!
