Item description for Chicken Rooster Porcelain Brooch Pin Jewelry 10 Cynthia Chuang Damaged

This gorgeous Rooster or Chicken brooch with amazing detail was made by Cynthia Chuang and Erh-Ping Tsai. It is signed with an impressed “Jewelry 10” trademark on the back of the pin. It has a porcelain body with wire and crystal and glass art seed bead accents and springs. It is accented with 22k gold leaf detail. It has glass eyes, white with black centers. It has dangling gold tone feet. It is highly detailed and has a whimsical nature to it. The colors are vivid and this is a wearable piece of art. It measures approximately 2 ½ inches in length from beak to tail.

I don’t have the original card that comes with the jewelry, but ones I have seen online read “Cynthia Chuang and her husband Erh-Ping Tsai began their careers as painters and sculptors and evolved and perfected their work with porcelain and metals into a distinctive line of hand-made jewelry. The results can be whimsical or sophisticated, but always original. Their love of the natural world inspired them to create a line of fanciful creatures to wear or display, which has won them many awards, and for which they have become particularly well known.” This one is a truly a unique piece of wearable art.

It is in nice pre-owned condition except for the crack and a dot of missing porcelain on the edge, as you can see from the many enlarged photographs. You don’t notice it when you look at it without the magnification, but it is definitely there. It doesn’t go all the way through to the back and it seems to be in no danger of cracking off. If you did not want to wear it as a piece of jewelry, it would make a great focal point for a shadow box or art display that any crafty person could create. This is being sold AS IS so make sure you check out the damage to the piece before purchasing. The price reflects the damage.
