The Peasant Girl nesting doll has five cheery little faces that make up this traditional and vibrant doll. The first matryoshka was made in Russia to promote an interest in the romance of the countryside. The novelty of doll has since inspired artist from around the world. This doll would be a beautiful addition to a matryoshka collection.

The doll is entirely hand painted at the Golden Cockerel workshop in St. Petersburg, Russia. The artists painstakingly hand paint every detail, beginning with backgrounds and moving to the finer elements that require a brush of very select Siberian squirrel hair. Then the dolls have multiple layers of non-toxic water-based lacquer applied.
