Hamilton ~ Lore of the West Plate Mile in His Moccasins

Beautiful collector's plate from The Hamilton Collection showing Lisa Danielle's A Mile in His Moccasins .

Determined to obtain better living conditions for his people, the great Sioux chief, American Horse, traveled to Washington in 1891 and successfully pleaded their cause in the white man's world. Though the miles have taken their toll on the delicate porcupine-quill decoration, the bead work borders, even the very seams and soles, their luminous beauty shines through. Maintaining our individual dignity while pursuing harmony with our brother takes an eagle's strength, but great are the rewards for all who are willing to walk a mile in another's moccasins.

It is bordered with a gold edge.
