About the author:

Actually, I have two author names: Mary Fanjoy Reid and M.E. Reid. I was single for both names, but now I am a single mother of two autistic children. My life is continuously invaded by Chaos, and in order to stay sane I write. My new book, "The Turing Machinists", features a seventeen-year old diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome who decides to form a rock band with his autistic friends. It was written for my son Max who is 10 right now and struggling with his desire to 'fit into' the Social Circle, and his need to be an individual and be left alone. I suppose the book is about the difference between fitting into society and experiencing a sense of belonging by just being himself. I wrote this book for readers to experience an autistic point of view in a fictional setting rather than a memoir, as fiction tends to engage the reader in a more intimate way.

While "The Turing Machinists" was satisfying to write, it is not as sweet and pleasurable as my three cupid novels. I wrote "Camera-Shy Cupid" for my aunt who was dying of colon cancer and who was a fan of Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy movies (I am a fan as well). The following Cupid novels ("The Gourmet Cupid" and "The Electric Cupid") just seemed to pop out of my head. I wrote them all very quickly, and although I had a truly fabulous time creating these novels, the editor in me yearns to rewrite and edit them. Well, they say writers are their own worst critics. But these books are meant to be enjoyed with a cup of tea and a ton of cookies on a dismal rainy day with nothing to do but read. Enjoy.

Lindsey and Max Rupert first meet at a fair, where Max's companion is the attractive Charlene Waters. Their next meeting is in a dentist's office, but this time Lindsey is a patient, and Max turns out to be the new dentist. Lindsey can't quite figure out where Charlene fits in.

As Lindsey and Max get to know each other better, they both can feel the electricity in the air. When it's time to dim the lights for romance, will they make the connection?
