Typical symptoms included: TV will not power-up; dead TV with or without the standby indicator lit; no picture or sound. The most common symptom/problem is intermittent power-up on this module. Once it is on it stays on, but may have to unplug and plug TV back in to get it to power-up until it gets worse and will not power-up at all.

Parts repair kits being sold by parts sellers who know very little about electronic circuits are substituting parts incorrectly; all of these kits are missing important parts, contain incorrect non fusible parts, which may cause fire and smoke damage when they fail, have inferior quality knock-off parts, unnecessary parts, and are not upgrades of the originals, which do not duplicate our repair, revision and upgrade. We know this for a fact due to our customers sending us their modules  after failed repair attempts using these parts repair kits. This is like "the blind leading the blind". In addition, parts repair kits being sold will not solve the most common problem with this module; that is, the intermittent power-up problem, since the parts needed to solve this problem are not included in the kit. Positive feedback in frequently being left for these kits noting "fast shipping" prior to installation of the kit or after installation before the problem returns.

More importantly, a high level of soldering skill and equipment is required to replace parts on this fragile circuit board without damaging the copper lands and traces. What often happens is a novice installs all or some of the kit parts damaging the circuit board and introducing additional faults. After the rebuild is completed on your module we will install it into a television of the same make and model as yours. Then your module will be test played all night which is typically 12 hours. This is a necessary procedure to burn-in the new parts and to weed out any defects before sending your module back to you.

 Both of these 58" Philips models have an excellent energy efficient and solid design in 'The Netherlands', however assembly in China caused some inferior parts to find their way into this power supply and cause early failures. We will revise and upgrade your module to remove these inherent faults, so your power supply does not fail again.
