Vintage original 27.25 x 37 in. "country of origin" Mexican poster from the classic 1950's Mexican fantasy drama, Y murío por nosotros (And He Died for Us), released in Mexico in 1951 and directed by Joselito Rodriguez. The religious-themed artwork is by Vargas (his signature appears next to the right border near the bottom) and features a very dramatic image of a man clasping his hands in prayer while gazing upwards at a figure of Jesus Christ, who is bleeding from the crown of thorns on his head...as the man himself is bleeding from his own head and his blood has dripped onto his shirt and hands.

This vintage original "country of origin" poster was printed for the film's original 1951 theatrical release in Mexico. It has been professionally linen-backed without any restoration for conservation purposes only and is in very fine+ condition. The colors are as fresh and vibrant as when this poster was printed in 1951 and are complimented by the jet-black background. This piece is very striking when seen in person.

This poster will be shipped rolled in a sturdy gorilla-proof tube to prevent damage while in transit.
