The straight razor dictated the time worn tradition of barbering by hand. The chin would be placed where the indent in the bowl lies. Very Quimper in feeling, but unsigned. Tin glazed hand painted French Pottery has been made in the French town of Quimper for over 300 years. 10.5 x 9 x 3, has some crazing and some rubs to the glaze, but is in remarkable fine condition, Circa 1800.
The decoration is blue on white, blue flowers and leaves.  As with most barber bowls, there were specifically designed holes in the back so the bowl could be hung on the wall, at the barber shop, keeping it from harm.  These bowls are difficult to find, I purchased a collection and am offering some of them here.
