Item description for Vintage Bird of Paradise Sterling Silver Amethyst Mexico Brooch Pin

This is an older brooch pin from Mexico with some darker patina. It is marked on the back “Sterling Mexico”. It is a figural piece featuring a raised Quetzal Bird with flowers surrounding it. It is accented in the center with a bezel set round purple Amethyst stone. It weighs 5.1 grams and measures approximately 2 inches in length.

This solid brooch is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. I have not polished it as many people prefer the patina that only comes with age. Depending on your own taste, I will leave any polishing up to you; you can keep it in the same condition with its original patina or polish it. The C-clasp closure works fine and is secure. There are two sections to the C-clasp so there may have been a rollover section at one time.
