... item condition is pretty much fine as is although is not pristine or ultimately perfect in any way at all as seen shown ...

... but for general use as a display item and as long as you yourself dont mind ...

... is perfectly ok ...

!!! ... fine for display unless you are going to want to inspect with a magnifying glass & or are just ultra fussy to start ... !!!

... does have what looks like a glued surface crack around bottom although may not actually be glued at all ...

... and may just be dirt in a hairline surface crack ...

... although cant really see whats happened here in all honesty ...

... seemingly has not ever been broken proper because there is no sign of any breakage on base ...

... unless of coarse the whole bottom come away at some point and the whole thing has then been glued back on ...

... then again maybe it was just a hairline type crack and somebody decided to treat it with a light application of glue at some point or other ...

... to try and stop it from going any further ...

... dont really know but as already said ...

... might indeed yes just be some age old grime inside a light hairline crack ...

... however is fine as is and will probably just stay like that untill the end of time no problem ...

... the only thing is is if it visibly bothers you to start plus is only of any concern on one side only so ...

... if you are happy enough too display with the other side showing then the anomily wont even notice anyway ...

... other than that is pretty much fine ...

... some age grubbiness upon and throughout the surface and within the corners etc etc ...

... possibly some other very minor innate or alien surface flaws also ...

... although as can be clearly enough seen in photos pretty much fine throughout no prob ...

... now for the dating ...

... the IV at the top signifies that it is a piece of claywear ...

... the letter W on the left signifies that it was made in the month of March ...

... the number 20 on the right signifies that it was made on the 20th day of the month ...

... and the letter A at the top signifies that it was made in the year of 1845 ...

... item therefore dated to 20th march 1845 ...

... the number 1 at the bottom is just the bundle number ...

... the no 229 was possibly the design number although really dont know that for sure ...

... and the letter M was possibly the maker to that of which we do not definitively know about either ...

... not perfect not new ...
