CUTAWAY VERSION of the ONLY PRACTICE LOCK YOU CANNOT OUTGROW

     Here is probably the best starter practice lock ever created.  Beginners to locksport as well as recreational lock picking hobbyists advance far faster in the quest for developing real skill if they can see what is happening inside the lock that they are trying to pick.  Transparent plastic locks do well to reveal this, but being plastic, they cannot offer the most realistic sensory feedback -- something absolutely crucial to successful lock picking.  

     These locks are created by precision computer assisted milling of actual brass and nickel KIK style lock cylinders - the same sort of cylinders you will find inside the huge majority of both deadbolt locks and keyed knobs and levers.  Material has been cut away from the top portion of the pin housing, revealing the top pins and springs.  Each movement of the pick and tension wrench results in a corresponding change to the pins in the lock, and the milled-out section makes the smallest movement obvious.  This kind of visual feedback, added to the kinaesthetic feedback provided by the picking tools, is essential and invaluable.

     The EZ Rekey lock is shipped fully pinned with a moderately difficult 6-pin combination.  You will also receive extra bottom pins (10), giving you a total of 16 bottom pins.  That's enough to create thousands of different combinations, especially when you add to the total the (6) pick resistant spool pins that also come in the kit.

     Start with a single pinned combo, which you will be able to create in mere seconds without the need for tools.  Work your way up, going next to a 2-pin combo and then on and on until you are able to pick a normal 5-pinned combo with a lot of differing pin sizes within the combination (the more difference in the pin sizes, the harder the combo is to pick).  Then go on to a 6-pin combo, and then start replacing the standard top pins with spool drivers, and by the time you get to that point you will be an ace lock picker -- without having to buy another lock!
