![]() AUTOGRAPHED limited edition #45 of 75 A Tale from the Fire TERRY BRAUNSTEIN
#45 of the very limited numbered edition of 75 deluxe copies, autographed by authorTERRY BRAUNSTEINAccording to myth, the phoenix is a bird that is born and dies in fire, only to be born again. After a life of 500 years, the phoenix makes a long journey to the East, stopping to pick up various spices and other riches. When she finally arrives high in the mountains, she builds herself a nest from what she has collected along the way. She sings the most beautiful song as she prepares her nest. Her brilliant feathers catch the light of the sun; the sparks hit her nest, and she and her home are completely burned. A tiny white worm emerges from the ashes -- the beginning of the new phoenix. Taking only what she needs, she prepares to return to the West, where she will spend the next 500 years. On her way, she stops to attend a funeral rite for her former self. Accompanied for a short distance by all of the birds in the world, the new phoenix returns to begin again**Front diecut has some wear around edges** About the Author TERRY BRAUNSTEIN, was born in Washington, D.C., and has lived in Long Beach for the past 25 years.
