A collection of stories and sketches by the author of Hans Brinker. Some are about a boy nicknamed Philly; others are labeled "Sketches", "Little Talks", "Insanity of Cain" and "Shoddy". 247 pages. This copy may be an early printing; information on the title page indicates it was printed between 1878 and 1894. The book has modest cover corner and spine end wear, along with toning and some spotting on pages. But it is tightly bound with no markings -- in as nice condition as any I've seen described on the Internet. Copies of Theophilus in printings as early as this are quite uncommon.
