A Culinary Mystery with Recipes of Italy. Carolyn Blue, a homemaker in her 40s has decided to finally change to her dream job - a food writer. She is going to join her chemist husband, Jason, in Sorrento, Italy and while he attends a conference sponsored by Ricci Chemicals, delve into the food of Italy.  When Jason is stranded in Paris by an air controller strike, Carolyn befriends Paolina who has been stood-up by her lover.  Carolyn's vision of a lovely Italian sojourn turns sour when Paolina is found drowned in the hotel pool. Carolyn seems to be the only person who questions if this was a suicide when she finds out that Paolina's lover was the owner of Ricci Chemicals but the police have no interest in investigating the drowning as suspicious because of Ricci mob connections.
