A Short History of Tibet by H.E. Richardson

E.P. Dutton & Co., First U.S. Edition, 1962

Condition:  Very Good+ to Near Fine in Near Very Good dust jacket

Most Americans likely know Tibet for the Himalayas, particularly Mt. Everest, and for the Dalai Lama, but for little else.  In this book, the author provides a lively, readable history of the country and its people from the earliest recorded times through the Red China invasion of the 1950s.  The book is illustrated with photographs and maps.  308 pages, including a Chronological Table, a Bibliography and Index.  Top cover corners are somewhat bumped, slightly affecting the first few pages; an erasure on the ffep; otherwise, in excellent condition with moderately toned pages.  The jacket has some wear at the spine ends and the fold corners, with two short edge tears; not price clipped.  Scarce book.
