"Hard Times but No Bad Times... Broke but never poor." These are the words spoken by Fred Popejoy at Wind and Mary Popejoy's 50th wedding anniversary in 1977 at Belton, Missouri. This book is in the memory of these great pioneers in Pentecost. It begins in the mining town of Picher, Oklahoma in the roaring 20's where they met and started their family. It tells of their call into the ministry during the depression and their continued steadfastness for 60 years. They lost two infants and two preacher boys to death and watched Judi almost die from polio. But their faith remained strong and true through all the bad times and they rejoiced in the good times. 'Mom and Pop' were responsible for many who answered the call for ministry. They were a true example to all who followed them. Enjoy the family album with pictures spanning 60 years of their life and ministry. Judi Popejoy-Pence is the youngest of seven children and the only girl surviving. She answered the call to the ministry as a young girl when she had polio. She has worked, all her life, with children using her gifts of art and storytelling. She realized that she was the only one left with first hand memories of the Popejoy's ministry after the brothers all left home to begin their families. She currently lives in phoenix, Arizona with her husband, Jerry Pence where they pastor a church. They have two children and four grandchildren.
