Lorel Plett
Miss Lorel, as she is called in ballet class, graduated from Providence College with a BFA in Performing Arts in 2001. She began her career as a professional accompanist at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, professional division, and currently accompanies the Alberta Ballet Company and School. After much urging from teachers over the past few years, Miss Lorel has finally released her first ballet free-class CD with the assistance of Joyce Shietze, a long-time ballet teacher just recently retired from regular teaching. In addition to accompanying ballet, Miss Lorel can be found accompanying individual singers and choirs as well as weddings and other social gatherings such as Christmas parties and the like.
Purple
It has been restringsd for an intermediate/Advanced level ballet class. The title is such that it should indicate the depth and texture of the music as well as the advanced level of ballet it is meant to accompany. Purple is comprised of music by Chopin, Beethoven, Bizet and Handel, just to name a few. There are also several new original works composed by Lorel Plett herself. The colour title was chosen through discussions with ballet teachers and about the way that Miss Lorel plays for class. It also allows for development into a series of colours for future CDs.
