GE FM/AM Dual Alarm Clock Radio Model 7-4663A Dimensions: 10-1/2”W x 6-1/2”D x 3”H Date Code: 3806K Greetings Clock Radio enthusiasts! Looking for a stylish and good sounding clock radio such as has not been in stores for several decades? You’ve come to the right place! This is a nice clean example of the GE FM/AM Electronic Digital FM/AM Clock Radio, model 7-4663A. By the mid-1980s, GE had established itself as the primary authority on programmable digital clock radios in the USA. From that era comes this attractive low-profile bedside unit, which is a full-featured dual-alarm digital clock with a blue fluorescent display, coupled with a responsive FM/AM radio. The clock setup is straightforward but quite versatile. Its functions include two separate Wake Times, each with a separate slide switch that can be set to turn on Music (the radio), or its own unique Alarm tone. Each of these slide switches has a fourth position for setting up your desired Wake Times. The Snooz button on the top allows 7 minutes of extra Z’s following wake up. The seven Electronic Touch Controls are used for adjusting the clock or turning on the Radio. The Radio can be turned On manually, or on a temporary basis with the adjustable 60-minute Sleep timer. Navigating the clock to make current Time and Wake adjustments is made simple by providing Forward, Fast Forward, Reverse and Fast Reverse progression of the clock digits. There is two-position Brightness switch for the blue clock display, located on the left side of the case. The same switch has a Time Set position which can be switched off to prevent accidental settings. This unit is equipped with Battery Backup, so that settings are not lost during power interruptions. A standard 9-volt battery provides for this function. The radio is responsive too, with surprisingly good AM and FM sensitivity and selectivity. The special hefty loosely suspended and domed 3” speaker provides audio that is superior to other radios of this size and shape. The AM antenna is an internal ferrite loopstick, and FM antenna is the AC power cord. This Clock Radio is fully functional and keeps perfect time. The radio works solidly too, with good reception characteristics on both bands. The audio has a rich full tone. The cabinet is in good condition, with a few inconspicuous abrasions and light scratches, but no serious cosmetic flaws. This would be a pleasant radio to wake up to, or it could be a fine addition to your collection of period clock radios. “GE Brings Good Things To Life!” Don’t miss it! |
