You tell them. We all tell them. And we all laugh our heads off when we hear them. Every one knows a few tall stories. Whoppers. Grand, fantastic, improbable, impossible lies. The kind that makes the boys in the backroom holler their heads off.  But there are mighty few who know how many of these ludicrous whoppers there really are, and how shameless and howlingly funny they can be. There's a whole literature of them, a magnificent, uproarious collection representing the most characteristic and funniest type of indigenous American humor. And by far the most infamous of the entire lot are in this volume--"The Hall of Fame of The Great American Whopper."  (#0000482)
