The Connecticut Ballet is one of New England's most important dance companies, and one of Connecticut's most popular ballet troupes. This program is from the 10th Anniversary Season 1981-1982 for the Connecticut Ballet. This year they are celebrating their 30th Anniversary. The program is full of great black and white pictures of all the members of the Company as well as photos of productions from each of the past 10 seasons. There are lots of advertisements for sponsors and local businesses as well. There is also a full color subscription mailer that describes the new productions and the ticket prices.
At this time this program was printed; the Artistic Director was Robert Vickrey, the Associate Director was Robin Welch and the General Manager was Mark Auerbach. The Ballet was performing on the Campus of Southern Connecticut State College in New Haven, at the Lyman Auditorium.
The Company consisted of:
Noble Barker, Robin Welch, Matthew Degnan, Kimmary Williams, Lynne Watt, Kathryn Sullivan, Kay Thompson, Pamela Davidson, Nancy Burns, Julie Morrison, Sean Carey, Leslie Howard, and Jerome Frazer.
The program and the subscription flyer are both in very good vintage condition. There are no torn, missing or stained pages. There is almost no wear on the covers. There is a slight bend on the top right pages, but they are not dog-earred, there is no fold on any of the pages. The back few pages have a printing defect with a wrinkle in the page on the bottom (this was made this way). The program measures 5 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches.
If you are a fan of the ballet you will love this piece of dance memorabilia. Since 2011 is the 30th Anniversary of the Connecticut Ballet, this would make a fantastic gift for anyone in this years Ballet Troupe or the Productions.
