Here for your consideration is a 100% COMPLETE, #923 Fisher Price Little People #923 School in NR MINT-MINT condition. This offering is complete with both the letter and number magnetic trays, all the letters and numbers plus the 8 EXTRA letters featured in the original set, playground equipment, desks, RARE ORIGINAL FISHER PRICE CHALK, the ELUSIVE ERASER, and MINTY ALL WOOD Little People. In addition, the set includes its original box!
I personally assembled this from several different sets using the best pieces I could find from each set. I configured this play set according to the Fisher Price specs for the 1972-75 version of the #923 School. The base is not the extended masonite base but the rest of the piece matches the description of the earliest sets (e.g. litho of children looking out through plastic panes etc.). As specified in www.thisoldtoy.com, the set came with the inside Fisher Price litho on the underneath side of the roof up until the 1976-77 production run. However, I cannot find any traces (e.g. glue, litho remnants) of this inner litho and I suspect this particular base was produced toward the end of 1975 and hence didn't have this litho.
The EXTERIOR lithos of this base are STUNNING (NEAR MINT-MINT)! After repeated inspections, the ONLY "imperfections I can spy are:
1. The main Fisher Price litho is loose on the upper left hand side; I will be reanchoring this with Rubber Cement so that it will not pose any future problems. This litho also displays some discoloration near the upper edge of the litho. I believe these light brown stains are due to some of the original glue leaching through the litho. With the exception of five, small bubbles on the main Fisher Price litho on the roof, the rest of the EXTERIOR lithos are MINTY MINT---no bubbles, creases, marks, stains, scratches, punctures, edge wear, rubs etc.; and
2. Some loosening of the flower bed litho on the open window side of the base. The litho itself is PERFECT. It just needs to be reanchored with Rubber Cement on its underlying plastic surface.
The INTERIOR lithos are similarly endowed with their original bright colors and are smoothly adhered to the base (MINT). After repeated scrutiny, the ONLY thing I can find are some light chalk marks on the chalkboard litho. These readily came off when I rubbed my finger across this litho. All the other floor and wall lithos are PERFECT! These are ABSOLUTELY the best INTERIOR lithos I've ever seen on one of these Schools. They look brand new!
With the exception of a couple of light scratches or scuffs on the metalic roof, the plastic surfaces are "to die for" (NEAR MINT-MINT). The roof has retained its glossy, creamy lustre and does not exhibit any rust, cracks, chips, or "dings." The chalkboard seems to be in FANTASTIC shape (MINT).
All of the masonite corners of the base are free of any layering, smushing, cracking etc. The top and bottom of the masonite base is devoid of any water stains or marks.
Short of finding one of these Schools in an unopened box, I fervently believe this is the best base you'll EVER see! It is INCREDIBLE and belies Fisher Price's reputation for making durable toys to last a lifetime.
Accompanying this OUTSTANDING base, are the following accessories:
1 VHTF lime green/yellow swing set (MINTY MINT);
1 HTF yellow/lime green merry-go-round (NEAR MINT--NOTE: The center bolt on the turning piece is a little dull; I believe it will brighten up with a generous application of Naval Jelly; once it does, this piece will warrant a MINT rating);
4 HTF yellow student desks (MINTY MINT);
1 RARE lime green Teacher's chair (EXC--some wear on the bottom of the legs);
1 RARE lime green Teacher's desk w/litho (MINTY MINT);
1 VHTF lime green slide (NEAR MINT-MINT--a few light surface scratches on the sliding board; otherwise, MINTY MINT);
1 VHTF magnetic letter tray (MINTY MINT);
1 RARE magnetic number tray (MINTY MINT);
1 RARE box of original Fisher Price chalk (MINT--3 pieces of chalk are unused and NOT broken; box is in VG++-EXC condition with some minor edge wear and spotting on the box; all of the flaps are present);
26 magnetic plastic letters (all labelled FP) (MINTY MINT);
10 magnetic numbers (0-9; all labelled FP) (MINTY MINT);
8 extra letters "E, I, L, N, P, R, S, T" as specified in the Fisher Price specs (MINTY MINT); and
1 EXTREMELY RARE SMOOTH YELLOW PLASTIC FISHER PRICE ERASER with ORIGINAL FOAM (NEAR MINT---While this eraser does NOT show any signs of dry rot, it does exhibit a couple of indentations on the foam).
The play set also includes the following ALL WOOD Little People:
1 RARE, blue bodied girl with blonde braids and white collar (NEAR MINT--light wear above nose; braids firmly attached);
1 RARE, green bodied girl with freckles and a red bob hair and bangs (MINTY MINT);
1 VHTF, red bodied African-American boy with black, heat stamped hair (MINTY MINT);
1 HTF, green bodied boy with red, heat stamped hair (NEAR MINT--small ink mark on back of head; I'm not sure whether or not this will come off with a careful cleaning); and
1 blue bodied Teacher with blonde pony (MINTY MINT).
This is an HEIRLOOM QUALITY set and one that any avid Fisher Price collector would be proud to own. It would also make a great gift for some lucky child.
Adding to its rarity, this offering comes with its original box! While the box demonstrates some wear (e.g. edgewear on the folds, a few creases, some extraneous tape, and some soiling etc.), it still provides a wonderful accounting of the contents of the set and displays well. I would give this box a 9.0/10.0 rating with 10.0 being PERFECT.
I will be thoroughly Q-tip cleaning this base and all of its accessories before sending it to its new owners. I spend a MINIMUM of 1 1/2 hours cleaning each and every VINTAGE Fisher Price Little People play set that I sell (except those clearly identified as coming from MY ROUGH ROOM). I use a myriad of cleaning products ----Goo Gone, Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser, Soft Scrub, Armor All Wipes, Comet, Chlorox Bleach pen, Dawn, Naval Jelly etc. to clean these sets. My sets are IMMACULATE! They're immediately ready to go on display or to give to some lucky child for play.
Remember, these VINTAGE Fisher Price toys are NOT designed for children under 3 years of age or those who are still mouthing their toys. Adult supervision is STRONGLY recommended.
Also, these VINTAGE Fisher Price toys are NOT part of the recent recall of toys manufactured in China. This play set was produced in the good ol' USA 36 years ago. They sure don't make durable toys like this any more!

I’ve been finding Fed Ex has been running @33% cheaper than the USPS (including Parcel Post) and UPS Ground. FYI, another benefit of using either Fed Ex or UPS is that their quote includes up to $100 worth of FREE insurance. Additional amounts of insurance may be purchased for a nominal fee (that is much less than the USPS). Fed Ex also provides automated tracking updates re: your parcel’s whereabouts directly to your personal e-mail account.
In order to ship Fed Ex (or UPS for that matter), I MUST have a residential or work place address, NOT a P.O. Box number, as well as a home or cell phone. Otherwise, they will not accept the shipping paperwork or transport your item.
Since Bonanza's shipping calculator does NOT offer Fed Ex Home Delivery as a shipping option, PLEASE DO NOT SEND PAYMENT UNTIL I HAVE HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO MANUALLY CHECK THESE RATES AND INSERT THEM INTO YOUR INVOICE. Otherwise, the shipping calculator may overcharge you.
Packages traveling to Alaska or Hawaii will be shipped Parcel Post via the USPS. Insurance and delivery confirmation are required.
