SUMMARY:
1822 published Novella from the life of a good-for-nothing applies as the most famous work of the romantic writer Joseph von Eichendorff. He describes the adventures of the young and naïve, careless good for nothing only pulls with his violin in the luggage in the world and this is his happiness. Places of action are a Castle near Vienna and various regions in Italy at the beginning of the 19th century. The first-person narrator and known as good for nothing, the son of a Miller is sent by his father in the world, to earn his bread. Cheerfully on his violin playing the good for nothing goes. On the way he meets two noble ladies who invite him to travel to Vienna on her coach. The women live in a castle outside the town, where they offer a job as gardener guy the good for nothing. He adopts and fell soon hopelessly in the younger of the two women.
