A 2018 hand carved wood and polychrome painted American Folk Art figure. The carving shows a black colored crow with wire legs standing on a tall cylindrical base. The crow is black with white eyes and a yellow beak. It is standing on a tall brown colored cylindrical base having black and orange colored highlights. The bird's legs are made of twisted wires and the bulky crow is made in the Wilhelm Schimmel style with the bulky body and primitive features. According to Dan Strawser this is a black crow. It has a yellow beak and white eyes. The carving shows minimum details, but is very well done. Just a wonderful and nicely done piece of American Folk Art to add to your Americana Collection. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description. The carving measures ~9 1/4" high with the base measuring ~2 7/8" in diameter and is ~4" high. The piece weighs about 12 ounces. The carving is in excellent condition, with no breaks, cracks, losses, or repairs. It does have minor scratches and minimal loss to the paint if any.
