NELLY ÁLVAREZ

She graduated from the "Academia de Bellas Artes" of Mendoza in 1955. She exhibited in the main salons of Argentina and Europe. Nelly Álvarez was honored in 1978 with her academic incorporation at the "Academia Di Pasteum", Salerno, Italy. Among other distinctions received in 1998 the "Recognition of Artistic Merit" granted by the Argentine Nation; Tribute to the "Artistic Merit" Punta del Este, Uruguay; Recognition to the trajectory Half Century in the Plastic Argentina, homage of the Legislature of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. In 2004 the Diploma of Honor for his career and his valuable contribution to our culture, granted by the Senate of the Argentine Nation; also in 2004 the "Soka Distinction to Art" in recognition of his work for the creation of a new humanistic culture, granted by Soka Gakkai International, Japan. In 2005 he formalizes his will in favor of UNICEF, to whom he bequeaths his works "so that they fulfill the mission of helping the children of the world, their permanent source of inspiration" Many of his works appear in private collections in the United States, Israel, Argentina , Japan, Spain, Mexico and other countries.
