This is a vintage original 11x14 in. U.S. lobby card from the popular 1930's drama/romance, A MESSAGE TO GARCIA, released in 1936 by Twentieth Century-Fox and directed by George Marshall. Co-starring Wallace Beery, Barbara Stanwyck and John Boles, the story is based upon the actual event of Rowan's carrying a message from President McKinley to Garcia in Cuba during the Spanish-American War.
The image features a close shot of Lt. Andrew Rown (John Boles), who was beaten and then tied to a chair, being interrogated by Dr. Ivan Krug (Alan Hale). This vintage original lobby card is in fine+ condition with only one pinhole in the top left corner with light signs of wear around it with a 0.25-in. and 1-in. diagonal crease on the top left corner within the borders only; a light 1.25-in. horizontal crease in the top border just to the left of center; a 4-in. thin horizontal area of dusting beneath the last 4 inches of the top border; a light 0.75-in. diagonal crease on the top right corner; and a small light stain in the right border just about the yellow circular area with the credits. The colors are fresh and vibrant and there are no pinholes, tears, stains or any signs of fading.
