Marti's voice and the choice of music she cares to sing will never be formulaic as a 'Dixie Chick'. But her music and voice will always be special. She conveys a passion without being syrupy. Besides, positive originality in any form (particularly music), is so rare.
Marti deserves to be heard on the PBS program, Sessions At West 54th to show a wide audience her talents.
Marti is as close to country as I can get. (Is she country?). I bought many of Marti's album on the premise that they would be as great as an early release of hers on A&M Records "Match Game". "Match Game" drew me in and has hence made me yen for a return to the soul, the balladry, the passion of this earlier time.
This may be an obscure review of a good album but I guess I could sum it up with this: I want another FANTASTIC release from Ms. Marti Jones.
