For your consideration is an antique brass kettle with iron handle.  This is a unique primitive piece in that it has the lock for the handle. It slides up and down the handle and will allow the handle to be down or lock in the upright position.  It also has a hole in the middle of the handle so that it can be hung over the hearth fire or an open camp fire tripod setup.  It has the hammered rivets on the edges.  I believe that the brass is forged as well as the iron handle.  This is a very old piece in great condition.  Needs a good cleaning.  It is 11 1/2" in diameter not including the handles and is 6" deep.  It is heavy at 9 pounds.
