Anise

Smells like: Black Licorice, Christmas Cookies, Ouzo, Sambuca, Fisherman's Soap

Suggested uses: We made this soap with people with particular needs in mind: Vegans, messy kids who can't handle bar soap, and people with allergies to tree nuts. This soap is a thick, bubbly soap that easily replaces the chemical-based detergent we all grew up with. Remove unwanted smells from chefs' hands (garlic, fish, etc.) or use to fragrance powder rooms and guest rooms during the holidays

Aromatherapy:  Warming. Star Anise essential oil is often used to treat respiratory ills (bronchitis, colds, etc.).

Ingredients: Water, Olive Oil (Olea europaea), Castor Oil (Ricinus communis), Potassium Hydroxide (Lye)*, Borax (Sodium borate) and/or Table Salt (Sodium chloride), Anise Essential Oil (Illicium verum), Cinnamon Leaf Essential Oil (Cinnamomum verum)

*The saponification process involves the digestion of oils and fats by lye and water.  Lye is the only chemical involved in traditional soap making, and during the saponification process is rendered harmless and, in fact, necessary.
