Vintage original 11x14 in. US double-weight matte photograph from the classic silent film adventure drama THE IRON MASK, released in 1929 by United Artists and directed by Allan Dwan. Douglas Fairbanks reprises his role of "D'Artagnan" in this sequel to his 1921 silent swashbuckling classic, The Three Musketeers. The image has the feel of a Rembrandt painting and depicts an interior long shot deep beneath a castle as much older D'Artagnan (Douglas Fairbanks) is attacked by several of King Louis XIII guards while two others look up at the huge staircase at the left while another two men stand near various instruments of torture.
Printed on double-weight stock with a matte finish and wide outer borders, this vintage original photograph is in fine- condition with a 1.75 in. diagonal crease on the bottom left corner; a 0.5 in. diagonal crease on the top left corner; a light 1 in. diagonal crease on the bottom right corner; and two very light small horizontal creases on the left border in the top third.
