This vintage necklace has two strands of tumbled polished lavender or amethyst quartz stones. The large multicolored parrot pendant is made of inlaid Mother-of-Pearl or shell pieces in shades of ivory, blue, gold and lavender. The shells are inlaid in a black setting, it may be Lexan. The pendant measures approximately 5 inches long and 2 1/4 inches wide. The necklace is two strands and varies in length just a little so it measures approximately 26-27 inches in length. This is from the 1970 to 1980 era when this type of jewelry was so popular. It reminds me of Karla Jordan who was well known for her beautiful jewelry, which she designed and crafted by hand. It is also similar to the pieces created by Lee Sands, but since this piece is unsigned, I cannot be sure. It is obviously a designer quality piece.
It is in excellent vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged pictures. There are no cracks or chips in the shell inlay. It has a round gold tone box style clasp.
Although it is unsigned, this is a superb designer quality necklace for any bird lover. A fun and tropical necklace to wear to your next Luau, it is a real eye-catching beauty. This is perfect for your summer wardrobe.
