This size large ring is equal to a size 9. I would adjust it down by no more than half a size (8.5).

In beautiful condition
I searched this ring over under high magnification. I do not spot any loss of gold but I do see some blemishes alongside the simulated onyx. There are some light surface scratches on the underside of the band.
