Vintage original 4x5 in. US single-weight glossy black-and-white publicity photograph from the popular 1960's Naval-themed comedy television series, MISTER ROBERTS, starring Roger Smith as Lt. Douglas Roberts. The image features an interior medium shot of Roger Smith in costume as Lt. Roberts as he holds a tray with what looks like a candle sitting on the middle while holding another candle in his hand. Printed on single-weight stock with a glossy finish, this vintage original publicity photograph is in very fine condition with a 1 in. diagonal crease on the top left corner that goes through the upper background area. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws and the image quality is razor-sharp with fine detail and nice rich contrast.

The original Broadway production of Mr. Roberts, by Thomas Heggen and Joshua Logan, opened at the Alvin Theater on February 18, 1948, ran for 1,157 performances and won the 1948 Tony Award (New York City) for the "Best Play."
