Flake were an Australian pop and rock group formed in 1968 with a line-up of Lindsay Askew on guitar, Mike Gaul on bass guitar, Geoff Gray on lead vocals (ex Eli), Sharon sim on lead vocals, Wayne thomas on Drums (ex Plastic Tears) and Rob Toth on keyboards. The Shins are an American indie rock band formed in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1996 with James Mercer (vocals, guitar, songwriter), Jon Sortland (drums), Mark Waltrous (guitar), Casey Foubert (guitar), Yuuki Matthews (bass) and Patti King (keyboards). The band was formed by Mercer as a side project to Flake Music who were active from 1992 to 1999. The band released 2 7" singles and a full-length album When You Land Here It's Time to Return on Omnibus Records and were touring when they signed to Sub Pop Recrods.

When You Land Here, It's Time To Return is a full-ength album released by indie rock band Flake Music (now known as The Shins). The album was recorded in 1997 and subsequently released on Omnibus Rercords.
